Core Values, Summer 2022

The Gallery is pleased to present Core Values, two new groupings of miniature watercolors of apple cores by Steven Jupiter. Each apple was eaten and painted by the artist in the same day and each grouping was painted in 16 consecutive days.

One day at lunch, Jupiter was struck by the sculptural beauty of the core left after he finished an apple. He immediately painted that core. The next day, he noticed that the next apple possessed its own unique personality, equally beautiful as the first. And the series was thus born…
